Kaliubon Ramen

Stopped for a late lunch in the new Kaliubon Ramen in Wethersfield.  This place is so much larger than I expected with excellent booth seating. We enjoyed several apps and two different ramen dishes and a Poke bowl. The Lamb Bao [$6] was very tasty and the wrapper was so delicate that I could make a whole meal out of an order or two. The Beef Spring Roll [$7] was much different than your typical spring roll but very fresh and tasty. The two luncheon sized ramens [$11] were both received with great praise: Kaliubon a bit spicy with both ground pork and pork belly and the Tokyo Chicken a bit milder. My Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl[$11+$2 for added avocado] was excellent. The poke was fresh and flavorful and the side accoutrements were all welcome additions. It was a reminder of the poke in Hawai'i and next time I will venture into the spicy tuna or the salmon.

blognote: Amelia was our server and she was both so pleasant and knowledgable of the menu!
