Valencia Lunchería

Any excuse I get to eat here is wonderful. Coming home from the Opera at Lincoln Center we made it here again. I ordered the Pabellon Criollo [$16] which is a delicious plate of Carne Mechada [stewed beef], white rice and black beans, ripe plantains and queso blanco [cheese]. This was super delicious along with a glass of frozen limeade with tequila [$10]. Dining partner had the Lechon [roast pork] with all the trimmings above [$16]. Took home some dessert: Flan [$4.50] and Chocolate Bread Pudding [$6].

blognote: Parking can be difficult, we have always found a space in the small lot behind the restaurant. The place was really filling up as we were leaving!

I want to live in Norwalk so I can eat at Valencia Luncheria every day! We were on our way to the Westport Playhouse so went early and enjoyed some good Venezuelan food.

The Arepa [pernil] plate came with avocado, plantains and rice/black beans and was unbelievable. The sandwich [$9.25] was filled with ancho seared strip steak, jalapeños, onions, mozzarella and tomato. The side of guac [$4.50] was spicy and fresh.
