LUCE

Oh yes, another birthday dinner. Had a nice dinner at LUCE on Main Street in Middletown. Have eaten here many times during its past owners and name changes [Caulkins, Fiasco, etc.]. Beautiful patio but we ate inside because of the heat.

I had the Sautéed Tenderloin Tips [$24.50] over garlic mashed potatoes and topped with buttermilk crusted onion rings. The tips were definitely tender and the gravy was rich and plentiful. The whole dish was, if a bit overpriced, quite good. Had a glass of A to Z Pinot Noir [$12.00]. The other diner had the Prosciutto Wrapped Veal Scallopini [$23.95] over potato hash. This was pronounced good and a small portion went home. The wine for this was a Chateaux St. Michelle Chardonnay. We did skip dessert!
