Drove by this new restaurant, Chips, and was invited tonight to try it out. It's a cross between a Denny's, Bickford's and Cracker Barrel. It was brightly lit and newly furnished but had that sort of down country look. The waitstaff was helpful and the food filling. There, I have said lots of good things about it.
The food we ordered was the food it is famous for: omelets and Belgian waffles [and pancakes]. I had a Portuguese omelet with chorizo, cheddar and avocado with home fries and toast. The three egg omelet was filled with chorizo and the avocado was cooked in. I chose 'diner style' as opposed to 'fluffy'. Actually, I had imagined the avocado being an addition on the side. The toast was dry and not buttered and the home fries had seen better days. The Belgian waffle was standard and the sausage links were a bit rubbery. Not a winner to be sure and the price was not the high point either. Guess I won't be back there again!
