Rizzuto's

March 18, 2012
Dinner this afternoon at Rizzuto's after Hartford Stage. Friends had a $20 coupon so we really enjoyed. I had the SHRIMP PICATTA, ricotta gnocchi, spinach, artichokes, roasted garlic, lemon caper sauce [$22]. This was a delicious dish with the best gnocchi ever. Two of us had this and the other entrée was the BONE IN VEAL PARMIGIANA, aged provolone, potato gnocchi gratin [$20] which I will definitely order in the future.

bloginfo: Situated in Blue Black Square where I thought I would never go!
blognote: They validate parking so it was free [maybe I will go back].

Had lunch here today with friends [and their coupon]. I had the CRISPY EGGPLANT PANINI, sweet garlic spinach, roasted red peppers, smoked mozzarella   [$8.95]. Substituted the GORGONZOLA CHOPPED SALAD, romaine, tomatoes, red onion, olives, artichokes, cucumber, salami, balsamic for the fries. Interesting meal but not anything special. Sandwich was a little dry and the salad a bit soggy. Had a Birra Moretti and it was cold and bitter; hit the spot.

bloginfo: The coupon was good for a month and could be reused [that's a deal].
blognote: Service was a bit lackluster; maybe he was having a slow day or just getting used to the job.
