Summer Shack [update]

OK so it's been a long time since I was here last. When I asked at the Hostess Station when they had changed the front entrance, the response was 'a couple of years ago'. BUT there was a Christmas gift card burning a slow hole in my bedside table [now you know where I hide all the good stuff!] and I wanted some seafood.

Started with a glass of Villa Pozzi Pinot [$9] which enhanced the rather lackluster starter of Steamers [m/p = $18]. A steep price for these babies; a good portion but maybe too early in the season.

Then on to the main course of a lunch special [read small order] of Fried Calamari [$16]. There was a choice of marinara or Rhode Island style ['spicy and greasy'] which was a very different presentation for me; enjoyable but the coating was a bit grainy. The fried oysters [$14] across the table had the same coating. These two orders came with good fries and coleslaw. Don't even think that they were not devoured.

If I had not had the wine, the gift card would have covered all but the tip. So a good lunch for a good price makes the author of this blog a happy boy! And the company was terrific!!!

What's a great day at the casino? Forget it!
What's a good day at the casino? Got it!

Broke even at Wheel of Fortune and had a great meal on Players' Club Points.

App special at Jasper White's Summer Shack was Manila Clams in a tomato broth with choriço. That's how it was advertised. It was a bowl filled with little Manila clams in a stew of fresh tomatoes, green onions and smoky choriço with garlic toast points. Delicious [$13] and 'free' with my points.
