Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

What can I say? Mer Soleil Chardonnay! Wonderful wine but the meal measured up to it; all in all just a great evening. Fleming's is the place to to!

The birthday boy had a Wedge Salad and the Pepper Steak: prime new york strip, cracked black and white peppercorns, proprietary “F17” steak sauce on the side. We ordered a side of Garlic Mashed Potatoes for the table [extremely good].

The other guest and I had the Prix Fixe Summer Menu with App: Chili Lime Prawns with Ancho Pepper Sauce roasted Gulf Coast prawns in a chili lime butter served with a red ancho pepper sauce, crisp fennel and cilantro salad and Entrée: Filet Mignon and Salmon Duo of our Filet Mignon with a warm rosemary and goat cheese mousse paired with pecan-crusted Scottish Salmon, topped with a Dijon mustard tarragon sauce and served with seasonal high-country asparagus. The meal was spectacular. Everything complimented everything and the great wine sure helped.

For dessert we all shared my favorite Fleming's dessert: CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE rich chocolate cake with a molten chocolate center of belgian chocolate, served with vanilla ice cream and chopped pistachios.

blognote: There was a lot to eat and filling as it was, the filet came home with me. I had ordered it rare so that I could use it for breakfast the next day. It ended up being seared and served with scrambled eggs [aux fines herbes] and caraway rye toast. What a fabulous breakfast after a fabulous dinner.
