Frankly Speaking @Franco's

Celebrating my birthday again; boy am I milking this one....
Ate here today with BF and GC after Hartford Stage's 'Floyd and Clea Under the Western Sky', good show!

Started with a basket of Bread and a Salad each; Peppercorn, French and Creamy Italian dressings.

Then BF had the Chicken Marsala, GC had the Chicken Cordon Bleu in an awesome Creamy Cheese Sauce and I had the Eggplant Parmigiana with a side of Ziti and Sauce. The servings are huge and we have enough to feed us all for the coming week.

The owner, S, said that they were offering a free pastry with an order of coffee. We were quite excited about a nice Italian pastry for dessert. The desserts turned out to be a slice of Raspberry Swirl Entenmann boxed coffee cake. NOT what we expected and a bit of a letdown after such a nice meal. But it WAS free!

The winner was the Eggplant and the Cheese Sauce.

Keep eating here at Franco's Restaurant in Cromwell with younger son, KF, and always forget to blog it. Well here goes.....

I ordered the dinner special of Eggplant Florentine which was served as an oven casserole with layers of Breaded Eggplant, Spinach, Red Sauce and lots of Cheese. This came with Ziti and Sauce, Salad and Bread. KF ordered the Seafood Medley of large and baby Shrimp, Scallops and Crabmeat in a Sherry Wine/Newburg sauce over Spaghetti. He had Onion Soup instead of a Salad.

We both had plenty to take home as the portions are very large.

The winners were both of the Entrées.
