Dinner at Pho Lemongrass in Brookline, MA with elder son CF and his SO, CB. Went there after dropping off younger son, KF at Fenway for a Red Sox Game. He got to eat sausage and funnelcake. But we fared a lot better.....
We started with appetizer portions of Fresh Summer Roll stuffed with rice noodles, lettuce, Asian basil and tofu. This was served with a Peanut Sauce. Also had an order of Fried Saigon Ravioli filled with a mixture of minced pork, chicken and vegetables. This came with a Ginger Dipping Sauce.
For entrees there were Seafood with Asparagus; the seafood was calamari, shrimp and scallops and it was served with Jasmine Rice [CB], Grilled Chicken with Jasmine Rice, a Mini-Salad and a homemade 'Nuoc Cham' sauce [CF]. I had the Lemongrass Seafood Madness which consisted of a mix of green and red peppers, onions and mushrooms with a good portion of calamari, shrimp, scallops and salmon. This was dusted with chopped peanuts and came with 'Nuoc Cham' and a healthy serving of Jasmine Rice.
The winners [no losers] were the Jasmine Rice, the Seafood and the Peanut Sauce. If you are going to be in the area, look up their menu @ www.pholemongrass.com .
