The bar/restaurant of the Polish National Home is open again. Went there today for the second day of their re-opening weekend. The menu was slightly abbreviated but there was certainly plenty of variety.
With a rye bread basket and a bottle of Tyskie beer I happily browsed the menu. My choice was the Kielbasa Sandwich on rye bread with Bigos. With some great mustard and horse radish on the side, it made for a great meal supplemented with a side order of Sauerkraut Salad [a definite highlight]. The wait for the meal was a bit long as the kitchen was swamped but it was certainly worth the wait. Bozena was in there performing her magic. My dining partner had the Polish Plate which included Kielbasa, Mashed Potatoes, Pierogi, Bigos and Stuffed Cabbage. She took a bit of that home!
