Wanted this place to be special and the view at The River is the only special part of this dining [mis]adventure. The set up is gorgeous, the colors are perfect and the al fresco tables are fine. The menu needs to realize this it is summer and not fall [yet]. To many heavy pasta and steak dishes. We wanted something special so stayed away from fish and chips, etc. Started the Lavender Lemonade which was great. Then saw the Tuscan Salad which looked like a summer dish and something a bit different. Did not add one of the add-ons like grilled shrimp but went to the appetizer list for our add-on. Settled on the Steak Skewers and due to a mix-up got one order of the Skewers and then a Calamari. We split the skewer order while waiting for the second and found it to be very very marinated with the listed Balsamic. Asked if the second order could be lighter on the marinade and WARM.The calamari went back and the other skewer appeared with no improvement. The included sourdough was topped with a fig spread with dots of balsamic for added flavor. The Tuscan Salad was interesting with a decent oregano vinaigrette bit the polenta croutons were stale and tasteless. Perhaps because of the newly to be opened Cantina on the lower level was taking up everyone's work load but the kitchen definitely did not deliver. Will go back for a drink and the view but won't be dining there.
