Party of twelve seniors, separate checks, full menu...what could go wrong?Actually nothing here at Canggio with waitstaff extraodinaire and a chef who knew Peruvian food like wow!
My Sanguche de Chanco was filled with crispy pork belly, sliced sweet potato, salsa criolla, aji verde on a toasted brioche roll and it was a beautiful sandwich. I chose [upgrade $3] the yuca fries instead of the regular fries and that was another good choice. A glass of Chicha Morada with its distinctive purple color and taste of cinnamon rounded out this Peruvian lunch.
It seemed like everyone ordered something different and everyone really enjoyed their meals. My table partner could not stop talking about her Mussels all the way home on the bus. Unfortunately there wasn't enough time for dessert which looked wonderful. We needed to get to the nearby Slater Museum for the yearly invitational show.
blognote: They just opened another restaurant in the area last night. I will find more info and post.
