Despedida dinner tonight at
21 OAK for a good friend who is going on to bigger and better on the West Coast.

| Brussels Sprouts |
Started with two apps to share: Brussels Sprouts [$7] which were sumptuous and Mac Chz [$7] which was very tasty with a cashew 'cheese'. Then on to the main courses: my Banh Mi sandwich special [$12] with seitan for protein and a VERY spicy spread! This included a side and I chose the Bean/Kale soup of the day. I used the broth as a dipping liquid to calm down the spicy spread on the bread. The other main was the Pattymelt [$9] with a pan seared tempeh patty, caramelized onions, swiss, black garlic cashew crema, artisan roll. Tasted this and it will be my choice next time! Dessert was a delicious and filling chocolate and peanut butter cheesecake [$6] to split.

blognote: They were packed so we went to the MCC Dehn Gallery just across the parking lot and they called us when a table was ready. Great service!
