O.C. Kitchen Bar

And here we go again...Sunday dinner hosted by a good friend before we went to an art show in Hartford. Everyone enjoyed but especially me with a Negroni, the best fries around with two dips [chipotle and pesto mayo] and the red Norma sauce with fried eggplant over tagliatelle...choco/coco tiramisu for dessert. You can't get more holiday than that.

Had to share the wealth so brought a guest from Hartford to see what is good in my neighborhood. Here we are at  O.C. Kitchen Bar again. This has become my home away from home. Started with a Negroni and for me a glass of Vermentino [$9] [and another one later on] and split a Caesar Salad [$9 with a surcharge of $2 for anchovies...hey, it's not a caesar salad without anchovies!!!]. Then three antipasti: Tagliere di Salumi e Formaggio [$12] which was a great selection of meat and a bit of cheeseand a saucer of giardiniera;

a terrific serving of Crudo [proscuiutto] and great Burrata [$14]

and 4 super Gamberi Gratinati [$12] sesame crusted shrimp over balsamic drizzled greens.

Great night, great food and I think I did Rocky Hill fine for my Hartford guest.

blognote: Terrific service from Lana!!!

Saturday night stopped for a Negroni at the O.C. Kitchen Bar and had lunch there today also. YES!

Had the Carne Sandwich [$11] which was full of prosciutto crudo, capicollo, mortadella and salami with Italian dressing and topped with romaine/heirloom tomatoes on a home made ciabatta roll. This came with a side of fries or a small salad [which is a large salad] with a balsamic vinaigrette. I opted for the salad and ended up taking half of the sandwich home.

Dining partner had the Kale Salad [$11] and was very pleased. The breadsticks are the best! Lots to try on the menu and I will be back soon![p
